Here are the current public library event schedules for Sarnia and the surrounding areas. Our libraries have a lot to offer and the best part is that almost all of their programs are FREE (unless otherwise noted)!

Tales for Twos (Ages 2 + adult) – 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays or Wednesdays – begins March 6 or March 7

Preschool Storytime (Ages 3-6) – 10:00 a.m. Monday or Thursdays – begins March 5 or March 8

Rhythm & Rhyme.  It’s Baby Lap Time DROP-IN  (0-23 months) –10:30 a.m. Fridays, – begins March 9

French Story Hour (Ages 3-6) – 1:30 p.m. Mondays (not available during March Break)

March Break Programming:

Preschool Storytime (Ages 3-6) DROP-IN – 10:30 a.m. March 12,14,15,16. Enjoy stories, songs, movie and a craft.

Lego Play DROP-IN – Between 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10 & 17.

Movie on the big screen in the library theatre DROP-IN – 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 13.  “Fantastic Mr. Fox.” Movie rated “G”.

Playdough Break (Grades 1+) – 2:30-3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15.  Squeeze, mash, cut and pinch colourful playdough into your own imaginative creation.

Sarnia Free Family Movie Night in the library Theatre DROP-IN  – 7:00 p.m. March 12.  “WALL.E”  Movie is rated G.  For movie details, please contact the library.

Tag Group – 3:00-4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29

3rd Annual Teen Photo Contest – Lambton County teens, ages 12 to 18, are invited to capture a bit of Sarnia-Lambton. Submissions can be 4×6, 5×8, or 8×10.  Contest closes March 21st.

Hunger Games Arena Challenge (Ages 12-18) – 1:00-4 p.m. Saturday, March 17.  Competitions include trivia and archery as well as a prize for best boy and best girl costume.

Book Discussion Group DROP-IN   – 7:00 p.m. Monday,  March 5 “ Freedom” by Jonathan Franzen

Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and Anime Club DROP-IN   – 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 19.  Discussions of upcoming books, comics, graphic novels, movies, television series and games.

Mystery Book Discussion Group DROP-IN  – 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 26.  Discussion:  RIP, Authors who’ve died in the last decade.

Petrolia Library is a Service Canada Outreach Site  – A representative is available 1:00-3:30 p.m. on the 1st Wednesday of each month.  No appointment necessary.

Point Edward (519 336-3291)

American Sign Language Lessons – 7:00 -9 p.m. Mondays – begins March 12.  The complete course is 20 hours.  Cost: $40.  These are considered private lessons and as such participants will not receive an official Certificate in Level 1.  However, an ASL Instructor signed certificate will be issued.
